Hi, Adam! This’s a nice discussion, honestly.
I don’t know what your opinion is, but I started an online business with $250 budget. Thought it’s a low cost business.
I understood people can make money with blogging so I decided to start a new blog in 2009. I first went with free blogging system called Blogger, but not to success with that CMS.
I learnt from the mistakes then invested on hosting service and self-hosted my blog with WordPress system. I spent around $10 a month for hosting service and $15 years for domain name. And about $100 for additional stuffs such as plugins and marketing tools.
I cannot say that I have succeeded with the business, but at least I can enjoy full time income from blogging.
If you’re preferring to start own business with a limited budget, I’ll recommend blogging as experience that it’s real business.
Just identify your expertise and blog about what you love. Find some affiliate products and blog about it so you can monetize your blog with those affiliate.
It’d be great if you ready have own product or have some ideas to lunch a new product.
What’s more, you can use blog to marketing your business so you don’t to spend additional budget for marketing.
Hope it helps.

Again. Good job, Kimsea.
Adam. The personal experience is freelance writing job if you’re looking for some low cost businesses.
As remember, I started the writing job with fiverr.com and freelancer.com. I used social medias and Youtube for marketing the business.
At the time, I didn’t make much income, but more than enough for continue next level business. I created my new blog after 6 months.
Kimsea is right. Blog is great for marketing the business so I use for doing online business with freelance writing.
