You’re right there’re so many social media platforms available on the internet, but the best practice to deal with social media marketing is focus on potential platforms.
Why do you need to care much about the other social media platforms while you’re struggling to marketing your business?
Honestly, I’m just working on few potential social medias such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linkedin, and Pinterest. However, I’m not social active on Linkedin and Pinterest.
Recently, I heard many marketers are enjoying on Instagram, but no plan to get on the platform. The reasons, I don’t have much time for managing multi accounts on hundred social medias, and what’s more, I’m still struggling on the few platforms so decide not to increase my works.
Yeah. The social media always changes, but the relationship doesn’t often change. If you can build a great connecting with your audiences, I believe that the change won’t much affect your business so focus on real relationship marketing.
Thanks, hope it helps.

I do agree what @Kimsea said in the answer, but honestly, we cannot set the future. So I believe there is no best strategy that work for the business or social media marketing in the future.
The best way to avoid bad affect of the business keep update regarding social media changing. Adapt your business plan following the trends of social media changes.
